Future Projects

Our 2024 plans

1. Vocational School

February: start building vocational building

October: start vocational school training

We are planning to open our first vocational training program by fall 2024. We are hoping to start with catering and brick building. This will be run a bit like typical school, set up as a 2-year program with semester long courses of various subjects, including:

• Topic specific classes.

• Bible: every student will attend Bible study and be discipled to become more like Jesus.

• English/Yoruba: students will practice communication skills in both English and the local language. These skills are essential and will be important when writing proposals for catering opportunities in the community and communicating with customers.

• Mathematics/accounting: basics of math and simple accounting is essential to learning to run a successful business.

• Entrepreneurial skills/business: in order to be successful as a business owner, students need to learn how to run a business.

2. Outreaches: Do four outreaches for the community surrounding our land

• March: food outreach.

• July: Hymn Sing

• August: Mini VBS, School Supply Outreach

• October: Food / Clothing Outreach

• December: Food Outreach. Christmas Carol

3. Fundraising: Complete at least two fundraising events

January 13th – Fundraising Banquet, USA – 40 people attended

April – Fundraising Banquet, Nigeria

2025 and beyond

1. Add more vocational programs. These will be added gradually as we have the space, teachers, and ability to take on more students. New programs will likely include, but not limited to:

1. Hair dressing

2. Tailoring

3. House painting

4. Farming/agriculture

5. Shoe making/repair

2. Start our secondary school. This will be for students who are unable to attend schools due to lack of funds, family support, or other challenges. We expect students to be far behind their age-mates in other schools. Therefore, we don’t expect 7th graders will know basic math facts or have good reading skills. We will likely be “getting the basics” under control rather than expecting the next top-scoring scholar. We will be developing curriculum to help us reach these students, get them basic education, teach them about Jesus, but also teach life skills so they can be productive in society in the long run.
